Our first team entertained Sheffield Union at Gosforth Fields this afternoon in the EV2 Sheffield & Hallamshire County Senior League, looking to put last weeks disappointment at Silkstone behind them.
Over to Co-Manager Ben for his report on the game…
“That was a strange game of football. We were totally dominant in possession and played some good stuff but after an hour it was 3-3.
We didn't defend a corner properly and went 1-0 down. Then we settled and pretty much had most of the ball for the rest of the first half, creating a number of chances. Ross Dawson
cut inside and bent one in the top corner for 1-1. Then Jamie crossed for Dawson’s 2nd with his head, just before half time.
Dawson got his hatrick early in the second half with a left foot Dawson special. We were cruising, then all of a sudden is was 3-3. A quality free kick and a penalty pegged us back. Chaz scored the goal of the game with a volley from the edge of the box, then it was plain sailing. Dawsongot his 4th and Chazwent on to get a hatrick. Happy gaffers tonight”.
