Our Under 15’s travelled to Bakewell Town this morning, having not played a league game for over a month.
The lads started slowly, with Bakewell’s direct style causing us a couple of early scares although Ben wasn’t really tested in goal.
We finally managed to get a foothold in the game, winning a few corners and from one of these we opened the scoring. Beazer drilled a low flighted ball to the back post, which was met by Liam
with a bullet header. 0-1.
A couple of changes were made midway through the half, and one of these changes resulted in us doubling our advantage. This time Henry took the corner and Tess rose like a salmon to power home. 0-2.
2 became 3 just before half time when Kane layed the ball off to Gaunty who’s speculative 25 yard shot was misjudged by the Bakewell keeper. 0-3 at half time.
We made a few changes at half time and quickly added a 4th. A quick throw in was flicked on by Kane to Tess who played a perfectly weighted ball to the back post for Henry to nod home unmarked 0-4.
Tyler was reintroduced to the game and after good work down our left he played a lovely ball across the 6 yard box for Aaron to side foot into the net from close range. 0-5.
At the other end Ben 
made an incredible save onto the bar after it looked like the ball had looped over him 
.
The icing on the cake was added after more good work by Tyler down the left, who saw his shot hit the post and Lewis reacted quickest to tap into an empty net. 0-6.
There were more chances for AFC in the final 5 minutes, but we couldn’t add to the score line. Full time and 6-0 to the good 
.
A number of the lads could have taken the MOM today, but Kane
edged it for leading the line brilliantly and causing Bakewell problems all game.
Manager Jon was pleased with his sides performance, “Great overall team performance from the lads today and always nice to get the clean sheet. Special mention to Kane today, at times he was unplayable”.
