Our Under 15’s entertained Millmoor on the ATP at Gosforth this afternoon. The lads were looking to finish the year on a high after some positive results in the opening part of their B Division campaign.
Despite a few injuries and illness earlier in the week the squad was at full strength for kick off.
We started on the front foot dominating possession and forcing Millmoor back in the early exchanges. The breakthrough was made midway through the first half….after some good play down our right hand side the ball fell to Aaron
25 yards out, and his speculative effort was fumbled into the net by the Millmoor keeper. 1-0.
We were now starting to dominate, and more good work down our right saw Aaron get to the by line…..his pin point cross picked out Leo who powered home a header from 10 yards. 2-0.
There was very little in the game for the remaining 15mins or so of the first half and we went in at half time 2-0 up.
A few changes were made at the interval and we took our time to reassert our dominance. Credit to Millmoor during this period, who got control of the game and managed to pull one back when their forward sneaked behind our defence to strike past Ben. 2-1.
You could see the belief return to the Millmoor players, but this was short lived. Tess (who was unplayable all afternoon) won the ball back high up the pitch, he unselfishly squared the ball to Kane who took a touch before firing into the corner of the net. 3-1.
Soon after we won a corner on our right. This was perfectly met by Kane, who flicked the ball on to an unmarked Henry who volleyed home from close range. 4-1.
Millmoor threw caution to the wind and put 3 up front, which forced us to change things up ourselves. This change in formation only added to our dominance, and following yet another mazy run from Tess the ball was squared to Lewis who made no mistake from 12 yards. 5-1 and a commanding victory was secured. 
This victory sees the lads in 2nd position with some big challenges ahead of them in the new year. MOM went to Tess
who was at his best today. He laid on 2 assists and on another day could have scored 3 or 4 himself.
Media duties were left to Coach Ross today who was full of praise for the performance, “Great team display today. Great team spirit & work ethic, few changes due to injuries etc but all adapted brilliantly!!
Lads should all be proud of their own performances but ultimately the team performance won us the game comfortably, outstanding!”.
