Our Under 15’s made the short journey to take on Sheffield FC in an early KO at Springs Academy this morning.
On a ‘very difficult’ pitch (to put it kindly) the early signs looked good as centre half Liam
headed home an Aaron corner in the first 30 seconds of the game.
We were on top for the opening 20mins before Sheffield equalised against the run of play. Worse was to follow as we conceded 2 more before the break.
We tried everything in the 2nd half to get back in the game, but it looked like it wasn’t to be our day until we scored 2 late goals; from Kane and a great header from Henry in the last 3 mins of the game saw us back on level terms. 3-3!
We thought that was it until we conceded a soft free kick which was well saved by Ben but then the Sheffield forward appeared to handle the ball into the net! The ref gave the goal and despite Tyler going very close with a free kick in what must have been the 5th minute of injury time it wasn’t to be our day.

was immense at the back today, won everything and was deservedly awarded the MOM.
Manager Jon had this to say afterwards, “With the results going our way today we haven’t lost too much ground.
Thought we’d nicked a point at 3v3 but to lose it like that we’re gutted……
Just never really got going today and I can’t put my finger on it as to why???
However we move on to next week now, forget about today and keep fighting as “ A TEAM” like we’ve always done and will keep doing so”.
